Funeral of Jacob Beutler.

Funeral services for the late Jacob Beutler, editor and publisher of the Staats-Zeitung, were held from the Bethel Evangelical Lutheran church at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. Ph. Tester officiating. Internment was made in Wyuka cemetery where the ceremony was conducted under the auspices of Teutonia lodge No. 15, Sons of Herman, of which deceased was for a long time a prominent member and officer.

The honorary pallbearers were Frank E. Helvey, O.C. Morton, John Mattes, jr., E.A. Brown, Edgar Beason and C.M. Hubner. The active pallbearers were William Gebert, Chris Wurtle, G.H. Homeyer, Chris Schwaderer, George Ziels and Bismark Bruggman.

A profusion of floral offerings testifying to the sincere regard of former associates of the deceased and to the deep sympathy for the bereaved family nearly hid the casket from view. The services at the church and the grave were characterized by an impressive simplicity that accorded well with the grief of the sorrowing friends.

The Merchants Band headed the funeral procession from the church to Wyuka cemetery, and was followed by the members of Teutonia lodge No. 15, Sons of Herman, Aerie No. 968, Eagles Lodge, and Elm Camp No. 9, Woodmen of the World. A large number of sorrowing friends completed the procession.
